Folk artists come together for special concert coming to BBC iPlayer and BBC Northern Ireland television.

From the Lambeg and bodhrán rhythms to fiddle tunes, pipes and song and dance, artists and musicians have come together for a special concert celebrating local musical traditions.

The concert, filmed for BBC Northern Ireland and TG4, took place in Belfast’s Mandela Hall and was hosted by John Toal and Jane Rea.

Fleadh Folk is co-produced by Clean Slate Television and Beloved Media Productions with support from Northern Ireland Screen’s Irish Language and Ulster-Scots Broadcast Funds.

The programme will feature performances from traditional Irish, Ulster-Scots and contemporary folk artists, who have joined forces to celebrate music across traditions, generations and languages.

Performers include the Blackwater Céilí Band with Andy McGregor and Friends, the Reuben Agnew Trio, the McKenna Family, Gino Lupari, Dermot Byrne and Stevie Dunne. The programme will also feature a specially recorded performance by Foy Vance.
